Pennsylvania
Adjusters Inc. is proud to announce that truth verification (lie
detection) is now available. An International Association of
Voice Analysis Certified Instructor has recently certified several
Associates of Pennsylvania Adjusters Inc as Certified Voice Stress
Examiners and are available when and where needed.
About Truth
verification
(formerly known as lie detection) which is available via the
Lantern Pro System by The Diogenes Company.
ORIGINATION:
Voice Stress Analysis (VSA) was invented in 1970 by two former
Army Colonels trained in counterintelligence. One of the two was
a long time polygraph examiner. These men formed a company and
began to market the first Voice Stress Analysis Instrument for the
purpose of advancing truth verification and protecting the
innocent from wrongful accusations based on suspicion or
circumstantial evidence. The VSA is still the world’s only truth
verification system with Voice Stress Analysis which has had many
independent validation studies that prove it works. Thousand of
trained examiners worldwide have proved the VSA vastly superior to
the polygraph,
HOW IT
WORKS:
The
VSA detects, measures and graphically displays on paper an
inaudible body tremor that is superimposed on the human voice (at
all ages) and also on all warm blooded animals such as dogs and
cats. This tremor is called the Micro-Muscle Tremor. The tremor
disappears according to the amount of stress present at the moment
of a vocal utterance.
The VSA equipment includes
a tape recorder which records the entire conversation between the
examiner and the subject from the beginning to the end of the
interview. After the examination questions are asked, the tape
recorded responses are replayed through the VSA. The various
patterns are printed on chart paper which are then analyzed by the
examiner for truth or deception. It must be noted that there is
no such thing as a “lie detector”. Lie detection is a human
analytical process.
USE:
Thousands of VSA’s have been sold worldwide since it’s
invention in 1970. They have been used by police departments, the
military services, private investigators, college security police,
security guard companies, psychiatrists and psychologists. It has
also been used by public defenders, prosecutors, lawyers,
probation and parole departments, prisons, insurance
investigators, corporations and many others.
THE VSA AND THE
POLYGRAPH:
It is most natural that the VSA (invented 1970) and the
Polygraph (invented 1910) as well as the computer polygraph, be
compared with each other. There are of course similarities
between them. They measure certain physiological changes caused
by psychological stress. They use controlled test procedures to
decide truth or deception. However, there are major differences
between them Those differences prove why the VSA is superior to
all polygraphs, the computer polygraph and imitation “voice
analyzers’ or “computer voice analyzers”.
 |
The VSA is accurate
using yes or no and narrative answers. The polygraph cannot
use multi-syllabic responses (only YES or NO can be used).
|
 |
The VSA uses the voice
and does not require attached wires. This eliminates stress
by the unnatural, uncomfortable and painful physical
restraints of the polygraph wires and procedures. VSA tests
can be performed from the telephone, radio, television, any
videotape, any previously made tape recording and of course
person to person.
|
 |
The VSA displays each
syllable of an utterance and can be evaluated for a stress
level without comparison to anything. The polygraph is
capable of displaying only relative stress levels.
|
 |
The VSA is NOT effected
by drugs, alcohol, or manual manipulations. The polygraph
type machine DOES suffer from these problems.
|
 |
The VSA never has
“inconclusive” results that the polygraph sometimes has. You
will always know if the subject is telling the truth or lying.
|
 |
The VSA was the first
and remains the ONLY instrument that does Voice Stress
Analysis with the Micro-Muscle Tremor. This process has been
validated by independent testing and research.
|
These examples are why
many polygraph examiners have switched to the VSA.
VALIDITY TESTING:
There is no shortage of studies on the VSA and its
accuracy. Aside from articles, testimony and other reports, there
are formal independent studies of various applications, which are
clearly favorable to the VSA. While many of these were
accomplished in universities, medical centers and mental health
centers, some were directly associated with criminal activity.
Examples are available upon request.
VSA CERTIFIED
EXAMINERS:
If gender is a concern due to certain privacy issues,
Pennsylvania Adjusters Inc (Got-Cha Surveillance) has both male
and female certified examiners available to administer voice
stress analysis. An Examiner is available any time, any where. |
